The challenge of the project lay in how to refine the bottle to accommodate a modern interpretation of an understated product for consumption scenarios in an active, healthy lifestyle. On the other hand, the process of adhering to the criteria for mass production needed to achieve a lightweight bottle design was a challenging factor.
The design and development of the Avoya bottle began in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2022. In the second half of 2024, it entered production at a 20,000-square-meter facility and was introduced to the market. Avoya’s high-tech production facility in Burdur houses one of the most advanced R&D laboratories in Europe.
Suitable for active lifestyles, Avoya sparkling mineral water features a bottle design that provides a pleasant drinking experience with its lightweight form and elegant silhouette. Its gastronomic approach, incorporating unique ingredient blends, complements a wide range of flavors -from elderflower to grapefruit and cherry- and can even be found on cocktail.
According to data from the Gürok Group, the owner of the AVOYA brand, Turkish consumers are increasingly prioritizing health, wellness, and sustainability. In 2024, 67% of consumers expressed a demand for health-oriented products, yet only 35% of the market met these needs. Trends show growing interest in low-sugar, clean-label products, as well as experiential and functional beverages supporting holistic health. AVOYA addresses this gap with sustainable packaging and natural, preservative-free, colorant-free, and sweetener-free ingredients, helping consumers renew themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Avoya's design inspiration stems from the desire to unite purity and strength, reflecting the essence of mineral water. Its broad-shouldered form symbolizes resilience, while the minimalist aesthetic highlights the product’s natural ingredients. In line with the brand identity, the revitalizing and refreshing cycle of natural minerals is reflected in the label designs. The bottles are available in 20 cl, 25 cl, and 75 cl sizes. The 20 cl version, containing plain sparkling mineral water, is produced in green-colored glass, while the 25 cl fruit-infused varieties are presented in flint glass to emphasize their diverse color options. The 75 cl version, featuring turquoise-colored glass and a special signature label, enhances its premium feel while reinforcing the brand’s commitment to a natural and health-conscious identity.
Avoya Glass Packaging has been a Bronze winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
