Unique Properties
Unlike a fashion brand that pumps out mass-produced frames and sunnies, VIAGEA is an eyewear brand producing a unique product that can create 11 styles from 1 pair of glasses. All VIAGE11 eyepieces feature interchangeable temples(classic & cable temples) and include a set of additional accents. Viage11 enables the user to change the style through a simple yet ingenious hinge system. The temple is encased in stainless steel clipping into the frame and minimizing the direct handling of the frame itself. Viage11 Accents is further secured by the detachable temple component with clips over the base frame and onto the frame.

NO SCREWS, NO RIVETS, NO SOLDERING: Our patented Hinge system has revolutionized the way eyewear is made. Traditionally, most frames have individual parts joined together with screws, which tend to loosen, require constant tightening, or even get lost. OUR INNOVATION: Our focus is for our consumers to have custom-made eyewear that not only fits their face shape but also allows them to express their individuality in various ways with our accent Clip.
Design Challenge
Is it possible for one pair of glasses to replace your entire collection?At ViageA, we believe it is. We make highly customizable modular eyewear, designed for the minimalist, traveler, or everyday wearer looking for the most versatile eye frame. The concept is about giving you the freedom to create your perfect pair of personalised glasses. But it took over 5 years to come with the result we have now. The challenge was to keep the weight of the eye frame light even after adding the accents on the top. For this reason, the frames are made from 0.7mm sheets of stainless steel. The frames weigh under 13g, which equals just 2 credit cards. That’s 3-4x lighter than regular glasses.
Project Duration
The idea started in May 2017 and was applied for a patent in 2018. The first prototype came out in 2019 and was exhibited in Silmo Paris in September.
Operation Flow
Each handcrafted eye frame can be customized to match anyone's unique style using removable clip accents. Without using any tools, mix and match accents and frames to achieve a range of looks for any occasion or look. Inspired by the ancient art of origami, our hinges are made, and cast using a single sheet of spring steel, simply cut, and folded like origami paper. The result is an extremely lightweight, yet durable frame meant to last you a lifetime.
Research
We've done some research by IDI and FGI from eyewear users in the '20s to '40s. The research Objectives were about the pain of purchasing a pair and wearing them mainly. Soon we discovered that majority was willing to have more versatile designs and functions on any occasion. After the interviews, we tested on Kickstarter2021 to check if there were needs in the market. We soon discovered that 70% of males were more interested in the modular system than females. We've localized in the EU and US and Asia for the test and the most well-received results were in Asia.

Extensible eyewear for your uncharted journey. Viage11 serves to accentuate individual identity and embellish 1 pair with 11 styles. The precise negative environmental impact of the fashion industry remains unknown, but it is sizeable. In recent years, more and more reports on the emergence of environmental news have made us more aware that nature is everything. We realized that we have a responsibility to help a sustainable and respectable world and to make the effort. That's why we launch this collection. We have changed the way of manufacturing glasses and also it provides versatile styles.
