Production Technology
This picture is drawn using the Galaxy Note 7 paint app. It is designed to be used as a wallpaper for cell phones.
Design Challenge
The tool for drawing graphic folk paintings is a computer painting app. The work tool was Samsung Galaxy Note 7. However, the Galaxy Note 7 was recalled, so I had to return my cell phone and work on the image with Photoshop again.
Project Duration
The project was worked on in Seoul in 2017.
Operation Flow
This folk painting has an amulet effect on the painting. Therefore, the person who holds this painting is protected from the invisible guardian deity. It's good to hang this picture in the house or use it as your cell phone wallpaper. This tiger painting will protect you anytime, anywhere.
Research
Folk paintings are traditional Korean paintings. In the old days, Korean people used to paint on the Korean paper with brushes, but modern people draw with computers. Graphic folk paintings are drawn using a tool called a computer. This project is a meeting between the past and the future, a combination of tradition and technology.
Inspiration
This design painted a tiger looking at the moonlight under a pine tree. Tigers are active at night. When a tiger appears, all the animals run away. So there are no friends around the tiger. Tigers are lonely animals. The tiger's only friend is the moon. In ancient Korea, tigers were the guardian deities of mountains. The tiger is a subject that appears frequently in folk paintings. This painting is a friendly drawing of a sacred animal.
