Gourmet Food Gift Set for Jeremy Bonggu Kang
Saintly Flavours is a gourmet food gift set that targets the consumers of high-end shops. Following the trend in which food and dining have become fashionable, the inspiration for the project comes from 2018’s Met Gala fashion theme of Catholicism. Jeremy Bonggu Kang tried to create a look that catches the eyes of the high-end shop consumers, using the ornate and traditional etching style of illustrations to represent the rich tradition of art and high-quality food making in Catholic Monasteries.

Unique Properties
The overall design of the project focuses on creating an artistic and luxurious look to catch the eyes of consumers of the high-end store, using the ornate and traditional style of illustrations to convey the theme of Catholicism. Not only was the logo for the brand made in an etching style illustration, but the detailed illustrations of each Abbey were placed in medieval style hand drawn flames on the front of the label. The package was designed to serve the decorative purpose by itself while and after using it.

Production Technology
To give an artistic and luxurious look, the thick papers with textures like an artist's sketchbook were used as the boxes and labels of each product of the gift set.
Design Challenge
The challenge of the project was to balance the beauty and fanciness of the ornamental elements from the rich tradition and the modern luxury appealing contemporary consumers. The usage of the chosen typeface and the mindful composition of graphic elements helped to win the balanced look of the outcome.
Project Duration
The project started and finished in 2018 in Vancouver.
Operation Flow
Inside of the fitted outer container, two wine bottles (one red wine and one white wine), one cracker box, and three jam jars are stacked up like an architecture.
Inspiration
Along with the trend that food and the act of eating have become fashionable, the inspiration for the project comes from 2018's Met Gala fashion theme of Catholicism. The name of the brand, Saintly Flavours, represents the rich tradition of high-quality food made by medieval monasteries. The names of gourmet products from seven Abbeys of France represent the values of Catholicism such as Meditation, Benediction, Generosity, Moderation, Patience, Reward, Happiness, Integrity.
