Production Technology
The logo of 993 MUSIC FM 30th is mainly made of metal, with the round-headed cylinder of one big end and one small end fused together in a misplaced yet orderly manner through the three-dimensional composition. Acrylic can also be adopted based on the specific occasion. The logo is clear and conspicuous when viewed from the front while appearing to be a semi-circular, multi-layered embossment when viewed from the side, yielding a strong sculptural sense with unique artistic and ornamental value.
Design Challenge
Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, the budgets, decorations and models of myriad offline activities during the project launch and implementation failed to meet the initial standards perfectly. Therefore, the design team came up with a large number of additional supporting elements to make the implementation easier and enhance the promotional results.
Project Duration
The design of the work started in November 2020 and was officially put into use in January 2021.
Operation Flow
The work is richly colored, coupled with simple patterns and clear directionality. As an icon for the 30th-anniversary celebration, the logo should convey to the public a positive and festive atmosphere according to the designer. Globally speaking, the elements of trumpets and fireworks constitute the most common festive items, whose abundant colors serve to refrain from the monotony of expression of feelings.
Research
In commemoration of the 30th anniversary, the designer also incorporated the 30th anniversary celebration. Love Music into various other supporting logos in addition to the simple, concise logo. For example, the letter I of the iconic Canton Tower was used as a reference, with the sound of stars and heart being fused into one icon to reinforce the element of love within the theme.
Inspiration
The composition of elements in this logo stems from sound waves, meteor showers and staves, while the layout is inspired by radial fireworks and the sound waves during traveling. The numerals 993 and 30 are fused within by the positive and negative shapes of the graphics to yield a tangible and virtual visual effect.
Project Overview
FM993 30th Visual Communication Design has been a Bronze winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
